Ok Guys. Tellman back with you again. We have a pretty irradic post sequence going on here, and I have a ton of videos i have recorded for you over the last few months. My training has been crazy. I have been to the hospital, cracked my head open, flew across the country a few times AND fall just hit here in Vermont.
The cold is coming, the runs are getting longer and I just got my first bike in over 8 years…
Needless to say, my underside is kind of sore and I hope to recover soon!
I hope you like the “Tunnel Vision” post…
Pay attention to where I say FARTLEK!
Get yourself one of those headlamps I mention in the video. They are awesome…
Oh, dude. I almost forgot. If you haven’t gotten involved over at http://www.RunTellmanRun.com then do! It’s awesome, we are raising a ton of money for Sir Richard Branson’s non-profit Virgin Unite. - you’ll get a link to check it out when you optin to the update list at Run Tellman Run.
I haven’t run it for a few months, and honestly I have been running at the ultimate slug-speed for the past few months since i have been training for this run across the country.
I ran for 1 hour, 10 minutes today. From my house, up the mountain and back home…
and it was almost as if the mountain wasn’t there… like it was a flat plane.
I almost didn’t even get out of breath!!!
It was absolutley amazing. I guess all this mega-endurance training that Hank has had me doing is working!
I am heading to Chicago in the morning, but I will get up early so I can do my dual-run tomorrow!
Hey gang, just got back from my run. It’s Thursday. Got home Tuesday night…took Tuesday off.
But Monday, I went out for an hour long run…pretty fast. Well, first half was pretty slow, second half was fast because I was getting bored and I needed to stretch my legs in a little town outside of Chicago…called St. Charles.
What a blazer. It was super hot and I didn’t even bother wearing my heart monitor.
Took Tuesday off. Yesterday, Wednesday, I went out for 33 minutes…I know I’m not supposed to do this but went for a speed run.
Didn’t get to run AT ALL for last two weeks and my legs needed to get some juice in them. Gotta build up for this marathon.
Just got back. Went out for an hour, fifteen. Went up Bonneville Road…kept my heart rate between 150-160. Okay, that’s it for now.
Hey, this is Tellman. It’s July 9 and just got back from a run.
…just did 30 minutes and here’s why. I went out on Friday to our double workout as planned. …and my knee started tweaking out on me. Was going to do an hour in the morning and then I was going to do a 45-minute pool run that night.
Went out for 15 minutes…and in that 15 minutes I could tell the end was near…so I turned around. It hurt the whole way back…about like a level 3 which was irritating.
I just decided, I jumped back into the running way too fast. So I took Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday off…gave my knee some serious, serious rest.
I hate taking that kind of time off, but there’s no other option. That’s what I did.
I went out today for 30 minutes…really easy, and I got spotty sensation at about level 1…off & on at a heart rate below 130. The good news is it didn’t hurt.
I’m actually leaving town Friday morning for 10 full days. I’m going to Orlando for a big NLP trianing…back for 2 days…back on the 21st & then leave again on the 23rd…going to Chicago.
On the road for almost like 2 straight weeks. Means some light runs and gym workouts on the bikes to give my knees some on-off time.
40 minute run today with Josh & Jim…kept my heart rate below 150…actually 140 most of the time.
I’m jacked! Yesterday, I went out & did a 30 minute on my knee. Last night almost 44 minute run…that was AWESOME!
Doing some hydro running…knee is completely healed. Totally ROCKS!
Running’s back…training’s back on…life is good!
Oh, big announcement…date of marathon for Richard Branson’s Virgin Unite, when it’s going to take place & what it’s going to be called. Coming soon to a future video.
All right, this is Tellman. It’s June 9th…7:51 AM. I’m here with Jim and it’s a Monday morning.
We gotta make this quick…we’ve got a Monday morning meeting here in a few minutes. It’s a sweaty, humid early morning …says it’s only 70 in the shade…it’s gotta be like 90 in the sun.
Just got back from a 30-minute recovery run for me & a pretty serious run for Jim.
Jim was surfing up in Maine this weekend & got his physiological butt kicked!
Recovery run…30 minutes…straight out Western Avenue for a ways….Came back a minute and a half faster!
Just got back. Today, I ran from the house…went to Mount Wontaskett…ran up it…ran down it…ran home.
It took me 15 minutes to get down there…another 31 minutes to run up it…18 minutes to get down & 17 minutes to get back to the house.
This was supposed to be my 1 hour run…with 30 minutes of intensity hills.
…a little longer than I had anticipated…but that’s okay. Oh, and it’s hot out right now! …a little humid but not bad today…it’s reading about 90 degrees.
All is good…I’m gonna go drink my Endurox. All right, this is Tellman.
Hey everybody, it’s Tellman. It’s June 7th…and it’s HOT!!!!
All right, this video is called the dastardly drill bit…diabolical drill bit or destructive drill bit…something like that.
I’ll get it that in a minute. It’s 110 out here today…hot…hot…hot!
I just finished a 55…looks like almost a 56 minute run.
I made it 4 minutes faster back than I did out. I’ll tell you, this was supposed to be one of my RPI…or difficulty level 3-6 according to Hank Lang.
The first 30 minutes running out were killer…they just destroyed me. And the next 30 minutes back for the first 10-15 minutes I was going strong.
I took just a 2 minute break to stretch…. Oh yeah, I carried my trusty water belt with me…with crazy sweat in my eyes.
It was hard today…it was a hard run…it shouldn’t have been. I was going real slow. I guess I had a lot of lactic acid built up in my legs.
I’m at the beginning of a batch of videos…for the last few days that I’ve slacked off giving to you. This is the last one in the series on the 7th. I’ll get the others to you.
The reason for the drill bit is just a simple idea makes a big difference. Some might think it’s a little lame but I think it’s pretty profound in its simplicity. I found a drill bit on the side of the road. It easily would have destroyed someone’s tire.
I ran by it…ran like 20 or 30 steps past. Couldn’t leave it lying there. Was gonna cause a problem for somebody so I picked it up even though they’d never know it.
And I like to try to think about that…to exercise that practice that I don’t always verbalize it…in business…in life…in running…in everything I do.
I urge you to do something to help somebody even though you won’t get any recognition for it. Hey, that’s my message for the day.
